The Laurel Crowned Circle was presented to Robert S. Jepson, Jr. during the 2008 National Leadership Summit and Convention in Atlanta, Georgia. The Laurel Crowned Circle Award is the highest award that the Society can bestow upon a member. The award is presented to “an outstanding American who has exemplified the ideals of the Omicron Delta Kappa Society.” Jepson becomes the 18th individual to receive this prestigious award since the founding of Omicron Delta Kappa in 1914. In addition to his successful business career Mr. Jepson and his wife, Alice Andrews Jepson, |
are well known benefactors in the field of higher education. The Jepson’s most notable contribution was to the University of Richmond, where the Jepson School of Leadership Studies was founded in 1992. Through the Jepson School of Leadership Studies students are given the opportunity to focus on leadership development as both a personal and an academic discipline.
Jepson’s professional portfolio is extensive and full of success; however he was awarded the Laurel Crowned Circle Award not only for his accomplishments in the business world, but especially for his philanthropic support and dedication to leadership and higher education.
